I just made a set of rattles with a 4x4 rack and it seems to work great. My question is can you rattle for mule deer, and if you do what is you sequence/technique?

Rattling during the rut is VERY effective on muleys! Try it and you'll like it.....rattle for a couple minutes and sit for fifteen and repeat.

CG that's interesting I've thought about trying to rattle in muleys but never did it, now I think I'll give it a try. I have rattled in elk before a nice 6pt two years ago, came in to 25yds and I took him on oct. 27. elknut1.

In WY we can't hunt mule deer during the rut but we do have a whitetail season during Nov. I would guess in the years I've done it, I probably rattle in 3 muleys for every 1 whitetail. Muleys act REALLY stupid during the rut.
