No binos? So you get the yardages given to you....but you can't use binos?

This 3D thing is weird!:D
No, you get to have bino's but having bino's and seeing the 10 ring, and then putting the bino's down to make your shot and stillknowing where to hold based onthat shadow/chewed up spot/detail on the target are two different things and usually take some practice. When your used to holding on a VERY defined yellow/white spot......and now you don't know exactly where it is but you have a few reference points.....it's a different game.

Local shoots usually (around here at least) let you take a range finder, just don't turn in score. We also shortened the "IBO" time limit to 1 minute at the stake. Problem is some folks don't believe in a watch.

I've found the "slow" people are the top guns, they are the "almost" top guns.

Marked yardage is only half the problem. Hitting a spot when you can't see it undoes alot of spotties, but when you get beat up targets or bright orange nocks in the middle of the 10, it does turn into a spot shoot. Bad for nocks!

Why should you get yardages given to you? Should I shoot the bow for ya too? Lmao!!

This is what I was going off of. Just giving ya a hard time Jeff! Why do you need binos anyway? Shoot for the vitals just like you do hunting.

I need binos because I'm not familiar with the targets. I don't "shoot for the vitals" when I'm shooting 3D....because they're asking me toturn in ascore:D

Thats what bugs me right there, I've been waiting for someone to say that! Doesn't really make much sence does it?

It does if you keep it in context, Schultzy. Two TOTALLY different things.....3D and hunting.

3D is simply target shooting.....with the target on an animal. Where I'd shoot the animal in the field and where I aim on a 3D animal don't necessarily jive. Throw in an uphill/downhill angle and they aren't very close.

A "5" on an animal (score-wise) might be the best kill shot.

Not really it isn't! There life sized animals just like in the woods hunting, vitals are in the same spot in the target as they are in a live animal. To do it right they should compensate at the angles etc. Thats how we did it when we put on all of our 3-D shoots but I know it will never happen because its just to much work. I know where your coming from so don't get me wrong but this has always been something I've never agreed with.
