I pulled a STUPIE with my bow today (pics)

It should not be like a dry fire, there is alot of force when that happens. mine went real easy and did not fly apart, you can see in the pics my string got hung on the axle and did not come completly apart, did yours??

Wow, guess i got a little luckier than you did. If it did not go real hard it should be ok, the shop should be able to put it back together for you. good luck, hard lesson learned from both of us

It looks like you will be alright because there isn't anything hard wedged between your cam and limb. A bow press should get you back in order.

I hope so, my lesson learned is not to leave the release on the string and let someone else pull it back. I told them not to use the release as not to accidentally dry fire it, due to my own stupidity I didn't think about the release still on the string and never told them to take it off. Completely my fault, just sickened to death by it. Think it will be as simple as a re-install, tune and sight? I'm expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

Exact same thing happened to my bow on a hunt this year. Only my buddy is the one who picked up the bow and drew it back ( told him not to draw it without an arrow ), and bam release jammed in bottom cam. Messed up the serving a bit on tha cam but had to press it to get her back together. Message: you shouldn't draw back other people's bows !!!!!!!!!1

Terry,
So beyond getting string put back on and a retune no other major damage was done? I'm optimistic by the replies so far and may be able to get some sleep tonight but also want to make sure I'm reading into everyones replies correctly. I'm thinking I've lost this weekends hunt which will leave me next weekend for the finale. I'm just hoping I will be able to get back out this year.
Thank you to everyone who has responded and an advanced thank you to those who may still do so.
