I pulled a STUPIE with my bow today (pics)

Well after twenty something years of shooting bows i had something happen to me today that i have never had happen before (ignorance on my part [:@]) I usually strap my wrist release around the string when i have my bow hanging up in my basement, well today i decided to crank down the poundage for the vegas league and a comfy turkey hunting poundage, dont know what i was thinking but after i backed off the limb bolts and checked tiller i decided to test the draw weight with the release still strappedaround the string :eek:stupid mistake, after drawing, the release fell down around the bottom cam while i was letting it down, it walked the string right off the cam, [:@]luckily the string fell between the cam and the limb on top af the axle and did not fly apart. Thank god i had a bow press to quickly get it back together. dont do this people, it aint pretty :D

Is that a CP Dead nuts? oh yeh btw glad you didnt get hurt and your bow was fixable. i did that once at an archery shop, ony it was the price tag tied on the string with a piece of wire and when i drew it back the wire pinched up under the cam, just had to draw it back again and pull it out.

I did that years ago 1 morning before going hunting. It cut my release strap right in to.Then it was a mad dash trying to piece together another strap from pieces I had laying around.

I always wonder what would happen if the release got stuck there! ;) (I too always keep my release strapped to my grip so I don't walk 3/4ths of a mile to my stand only to realize I left my release on my hood while getting ready![:o])

I did the same thing this summer - only the string didn't come off the cam. Live and learn . . . .
