That is dumb.
[8D] I always strap mine around the grip above the stabilizer. It can't go up, gets caught in the rest and cable guide and can't go down as it gets caught on the stabilizer. Hook it to the string????? What have you been thinking for 20 years.[8D]

I can tell you about a guy who went you one better than that. I got a phone call from a fellow member at our club. He'd been out shooting with a friend of his and his friend had a slight malfunction. He had his cell phone clipped to his belt and, when he shot, the string grabbed the phone, sucked it right between the string and cam. Snipped the phone neatly in two and knocked the string off the cam, just like in your pic. It was a Sunday, so all the shops were closed and he needed it fixed. So they called me.
At the time I was shooting for Hoyt and made sure to point out that it was a Hoyt staffer that was putting his Mathews back together for him.

Did the same thing with my bow a week prior to the opener. Infact, I did it the night before I left for bear hunting. So I had a friend take it and get it fixed while I was gone.
I freaked the crap outa me. Sounded like my bow exploded.
My first thought was, "did I really just do that?"
Lucky nothing major was wrong with it and I was able to still kill with it this year.
How's it feel Elmer Fudd? [8D]
