I missed one a couple of weeks ago, but when his partner in crime came out 10 minutes later, she wasnt so lucky. I see them all the time, matter of fact, that was the 5th and 6th I have seen this year. I remember the first time I saw one, I was young and the guy I was hunting with was on his way to come get me. The bobcat was at the bottom of the stand, and I had to get down. Being young and not knowing it would run from me, I shot it. Last year I saw one the day before the season came in, it had to be knee high. It almost got one from the 30/06 but I let it walk hoping to get it later.

In 26 seasons in a tree with a bow I've only ever seen 2.

The first was only moments as it stepped onto and off a log down in the woods. The second was 3 years ago, the same evening I shot my contest buck in 04. A bobcat was mousing in the field when the buck came to my calls and eyeballed the bobcat. He didn't seem too concerned over the cat nor did the cat pay any attention to the buck.

I was sitting in my stand yesterday morning and had a doe feeding in front of me. It spooked and flagged and I thought I had spooked it. So I start ranging my area and a few minuted later I catch something out of the corner of my eye and look down. It was a bobcat sneaking up on me at about 5 to 10 yards. I turned and it stopped, so I picked up my bow to draw, but it took off before I was half way up. It shook me up a little as I didn't want to be the kitty's breakfast snack. I was the beggining of a very eventful morning. After that, I missed a small 8pt TWICE and couldn't get a shot off at family of hogs. What a great day!

I would be psyched to see a bobcat while hunting... Right now I would be psyched to see anything besides squirrel royal rumbles!
