That particular one was not locked, but that only keeps away the honest man. They tried to steal the ladder in the same tree (stands were set to film out of) but they quickly relized that if they undid the rachet strap they were going to fall 20 ft. so they left it loose. Good thing we were trying to get in it during the daylight, in the dark things could have been ugly.

You are right about the locks. Masterlocks and the like are about a 15 second job for me, but I have NEVER stolen anything. It chaps my butt that people do this to one another. If you ever talk to a lot of these people, they feel "entitled" somehow. It will never cease to amaze me.

I feel your pain...Years ago I had an API Baby Grand stolen, I went to climbers...
A few year ago, another propery I had 2 feeders stolen, knew who did it, because I could track his 4-wheeler tracks beside the road...Sheriff didn't want to follow up on...Three years later, my feeder was in his yard, he was cleaning out his shed...I went home, got my cam and recorded, called the Sheriff and asked if he wanted to retrieve or have me...He picked it up, took the guy to court and the crooked judge and lawyer got him off...He produced a receipt from a pawn shop an hour away for the feeder....Sure, feeder ended up 1/2 mile away from where I'm hunting...
I don't leave anything in the woods anymore...If I want to put out corn it goes in a pipe feeder, or I spread on the ground...I have purchased a 4-wheeler and my climber stays on it....
Good Luck with it...
