Default Sleeping bag

Hey whats the best way to clean a sleeping bag, take it to a dry cleaner, or do it yourself? My browning sleeping bag is nasty after a week long elk hunt. Thanks guys.

Read the cleaning instructions. They can be very specific depending on the bag and what the fill is. If you do the wrong thing with the wrong material you end up with a lumpy cold bag. At a minimum if it's washable take it to a coin op laundry with a BIG front loading machine and put it on a very gentle cycle. Tumble dry low and remove immediately.... or hang dry. You'll still have to fluff it with a dryer probably. Dry cleaning is going to cost you a bunch and depending on the cleaner may NOT be the best way to go. If he's got dirty fluid it may stink worse than it does now.[&:][:'(] My experience has been that most drycleaners will probably wash it anyway and still charge you $25 and up

Most are machine washable. If it's down then put a couple tennis balls inthe dryer to help fluff it back up.
