I would go with more. Most season's I end up with a buck tag waiting on the big one that never seems to show himself and I eat a tag. It woundnt bother me if I had more Does. One deer doesnt go far with a famliy of 4 big eater's,Well 3(the wife eat's like a bird)
She's going to see that

I would like to be able to kill more does. NOT because I just want to kill deer, but because I would LOVE to use those to feed the hungry. I would be far more willing to do that if I didn't have to pay for the processing of said deer. At 100 bucks a pop, that could get pretty expensive. Oh, the Missouri DOC will reimburse me like....$35 I believe...
And actually, I would really like to start up a ministry to do just that.

I would like one deer on my land [8D]. As long as it's the one I want to shoot. Honestly if I only saw one single deer all season and it was the buck I was after I'd be happy. I don't need to see or shoot a lot of deer. I could care less about "seeing deer". I care about seeing "the deer". Picking up what I'm putting down?

I concur with that philosophy, too. I don't give a rat's as about killing a bunch of deer. I do it because it needs doing. I learned a lot this season......but this is the main thing.

I told you shooting a lot of deer was a lot of work.
I'm still goofy enough to enjoy it, but maybe only for another 3-5 years tops. I think being able to shoot a lot of does has taught me a lot about deer physiology.
I can really see me just focusing more and more on"style"than a filled freezer. But who knows, I may try and fill the freezer in that case too.

That surprises me. I love just seeing deer. I could give a crap about seeing "the deer". It is nice and it is the end goal, but if/when it doesn't happen I don't really care.
I want to get about 1 deer per7-10 acres on our farms. Probably around 1/15 right now. I enjoy seeing deer year round too, not just during hunting season.

I'm with ya rybo....and I think I know where you're heading. I'm right there with ya.
I may mix it up year to year in the future. One year with a compound.....one with the trad gear. Take it where it falls.
Who knows what next season holds?
