How many mature bucks?
#42
I have seen 2 Bucks that would score in the 140's this year, did not try to age them but would put money on it they were both 3 1/2 or older, and if I would have got the right shot opportunity, I would have sent a Snuffer after them!
I figure in my area if they have enough bone on their heads to score over 130'' they have lived long enough!

in bow range this season, just 1 thus far.
via binocs, or from afar, 5 total while actually hunting
4others along the road side while driving to work or home from hunting, those bucks were all moving well after dark
(edit. The bucks above, I looked over and felt were at least 4.5 or older, I am not counting the handful of 3.5s I saw through Sept,Oct,Nov.)

42 sits, 210 stand hours. 27 racked bucks entered my set ups. Not one buck over 3 1/2 in my estimation. There were only two that made me grab my bow. A nice 10 point and a decent eight. I have seen the eight tending does twice. I'm pretty sure the eight has taken over. The buck I scouted this summer I fear is dead or gone. I have enjoyed it but is has also taken its toll. Come Dec. 10 and beyond I'm putting a hole in the first son of a ----- that shows up.

3 sits /1 BBD on KS,now I'm hunting PA and was successful with a gun. Wouldn't call him "mature" though. The landowner recently allowed me permission, and wants it "managed" to help with his orchard production, so i took a 2.5year old 8 point.

Mature bucks...
I believe 5 is the answer for me. With 1 falling to my bow.. and the only one I shot at. But that's not the whole story.
1 nice 3.5 I had walk behind me at 12 yards in Wisc.. unfortunately I had to let him walk as I had no buck tag (earn-a-buck zone).
1 nice 3.5+ slipped by us while I was filming Justin in Pike county, Ill. About 70 yards from Justin, who was the hunter.
1 nice 3.5+ who showed up late into a field and got within 60 yards.. then I spooked him.. but it was too dark to shoot anyway.
1 BIG 4.5+ buck who passed at 20 yards, it was just to dark too shoot!
1 Beauty of a 5.5 yr. old who will soon grace my wall.. but until then is gracing my tummy!
That's it 1/5... the one who finally showed up early enough to shoot at.
