RE: Man-Cave / Gameroom ideas
I think mounts look so much better on white walls I will be finshing the inside of my game room this witer [after the season] It's 28x28 with seisser tusses ,drywall or plastering is the way to go . But first I need to come up with the right lighting. Track lighting would be easyer to adjust and add on for futuremounts ,That I hope to get. I have nearly 30 mount now ,looking forward to posting photos this spring. [/align] |
RE: Man-Cave / Gameroom ideas
think about recess lighting it is god for task lighting also they also have new ac light that has cable that goes through a box and get turned into dc it is real efficient and saves you money and is compact

RE: Man-Cave / in the ideas
ORIGINAL: GMMAT Great work, John. Big question is.....I understand the supply.....but did you do the drain line for your bar sink, yourself? How did you tie it in? I have the treadmill/weights problem, too. How big is the space I'm actually looking at? I might have to leave my treadmill in my room when I'm finished. I think the weight center will fit into the new laundry area. The paneling is a great look.....but likely more expensive than drywall (Lisa HATES paneling, though). I'll probably compromise (I like it) and hang drywall with some sort of wainscot. Photos are great. Nice room;) I have an ejector sump in the basement. It's separate from the ground water sump pump and is code where I live. Here all new buildings musthave an ejector pump. I just ranpipe along the base of the wall in the unfinished back room to the ejector. I Laid it out so the bar wouldn't be too far from the ejector. The size of the room(s) you are actually looking at is as listed in my post. My office is 12x20 and the other side is 15x20. The back room (unfinished part) is about 10x27 It may seem like a lot but add in the furness, water heater, ejector, freezer chest, gun safes, workbench, etc... It makes it pretty cramped. I also store my poker table and chairs back there as well as my hunting gear. Most of the long term storage goes in the crawl space. It's all concrete but it's only 3ft from the floor to the Joyce's. I actually use a creeper to get around in there.:D The paneling is considerably more than drywall and was my biggest cost when buying my supplies. I'm looking over my receipts as I type this and I spent $2,282.12 on the paneling only. The ceiling materials were $826.28 The electrical materials (including all lights) were $1,819.43. The lumber cost was $589.57. Add in the cost for the carpet, doors, hardware, insulation, bar materials etc... and it adds up quick.[:@] I never have a problem putting money into a house though...good investment....and I geta "man cave" out of it to boot.:D |

RE: Man-Cave / in the ideas
Joyce's. JOISTS!!...:D (I could list more...."masonary"; "Mezzaline"....I've heard 'em all!) Thanks a lot for the info. We're moving ahead....and I hope to have it completed before our little mini gettogether here in the spring. I don't have the extra space you speak of, now. My Cooper's (my 8 yr old Lab) room in the basement will be able to be utilized when she's no longer with us (10x30). But, for now....she needs her space, too;). I hope it all works out and I can get the weights out of the main man room. Treadmill will be nice in there.....run and catch a game at the same time. I hope my budget holds up.....but either way....it's happenning! |
