Looks like youve got your mind made up on quite a few things! good for you buddy i hope it works out good for you remember run your screw heads just past flush not too far or they'llpull through the drywall. Stay focused good Luck you cant go wrong with can lights on a dimmer switch.

If you go with the salvaged barn wood you could add a faux porch overhang on one wall too. Just something that sticks out a foot or so. Kind of make it like an outdoors thats indoors feeling.
