I thought Cooper was gonna eat my HOUSE for a while. She mellowed out nicely, though, ya think

I've wanted one for a long time, but couldn't have a dog where I used to live. Got a new house and new rules... So, meet Blazer! Sorry, pic is from my daughter's cell phone. He's an 8 week old lab. New friend for the kittens to hide fro... i mean, play with!
Congrats on a new hunting/Shed partner! Next year I get mine as well. A Lab for Duck, Goose and shed hunting. I can't freaking wait!!

Thanks for the advice. I knew he'd be a handful, but it sounds like maybe he's gonna be a big challenge. I just got a new livingroom set a couple weeks ago, hopefully it wont be the most expensive chew toy ever! Anyway, I've got the crate and hopefully he's gonna stop using my dining room as his personal bathroom soon. I'll look into some of the books you guys mentioned, thanks for the tips!

This is getting better. I know someone at work who purchased one of Blazer's littermates. I don't know him that well, but just ran into him and said hello. It turns out he has over 100 acres in CT loaded with deer He hunts it and allows 3 other guys to hunt too, and said the access was limited to just a few vehicles so he was leary about giving me permission. I told him I only bowhunt in CT and the problem went away. Only one of the 4 bowhunts so access wont be an issue. Since bow is all but over for me in CT he told me to see him next year when the season gets closer... Oh by the way, it might be a good bet to check that place out for Turkey this spring too!

Labs are great dogs don't get me wrong, but as stated I think their puppy stage is longer than any other dog. Betterup your home owners and make sureeverything thatyou may think is chewable is covered. Not to mention the things that he chews that you just sit and scratch your head and wonder "why in the hell would a dog want to chew the legs off of my sofa"...."all four of them in one day". [:'(] They also have WAY too much energy for me.

Beautiful pup though.
Yeah, my golden retriever once woke us up with the sound of him...chewing the drywall. Thankfully it was while we were sleeping over at my in-laws. HA!

Rob, I just saw a TV show about a guy in Mich. who has a deer tracking service
and his dog is the same as yours. He trained his to track wounded deer by using
a sent drag with a piece of deer liver. Not sure how the little guy does in deep
snow, but must do pretty good if the owner can charge money for his services.
Weiner dog in snow shoes? lol

Cool dog!

Black Labs named Blaze are usually the best one. Believe me My lab Blaze is a great hunting buddy, not to mention a great family pet. I don't have a family but he helped me pick up the girl I am with now. We live together and she I think loves him more then me.

Congrats on the dog.

Here is my Black British Pointing Lab Blaze
