When you think of the rut.....you think of bucks roaming the woods willy-nilly searching for the hot does.

Honestly....I've never seen a taper off in DOE activity. I betcha I haven't had 12 buck SIGHTINGS all year. I know I've only seen 5 different antlered bucks all year. BUT....I can always count on doe sightings......just not right now! It's weird.

I honestly think next year if you grow that plot combined with the thinning you have done this year you are going to see a major difference in the buck/doe ratio. I was skeptical about this season at my place and figured we would need another year or two to see differences in the ratio but without fawns in the mix I've actually seen more antlered bucks this season than I have does.

Yep, my wife was feeling froggy this morning. So tonight is looking good. Boom chica waw wow. And ill get to sleep late Sat.. Im feeling good about this weekend. 
Im tagged out, so Im not getting in a hurry to start arrowing hogs. Besides, ive got some hog in the freezer, so im taking my time getting back out in the field. Kinda sad though.

Matt....I don't know. I tell ya....the Saturday before I shot the bull (11/3) I must have seen 20+ different does in the staging area I was in. I KNOW I had close to FORTY sightings (and I know some of them were the same does that woudl leave and return).
So I don't know. That day simply amazed me. It was like I'd done NOTHING, this year. That's why I want to take a couple-3 more if I can. if I can't.....it's still been successful (8 out total and 6 does).
