Banning shooting in city limits
#31
I know in my subdivision it is illegal to shoot my bow, but considering my house backs up to hundreds of acres of woods I shoot anyway. I think it's BS to have this kind of rule. I can see if there are houses behind mine or children played back there, but this is not the case. A kid that lives up the street actually got the cops called on him once and they threatened to take away his bow if he did it again. Luckily noone has said anything to me about shooting.

There is a lot of truth in that. I have been teaching and running a science dept. for 15+ years, and I can attest to the fact our kids are progressively getting worse each year. No respect for anything. And of course im speaking of the majority. There are still many from good parents, who are respectful. I am so feed up with it all.Kids are never at fault anymore. Its always someone elses fault. This is ingrained in the kids, they know it, and are smart enough to use it. Add to this, the fact most parents dont parent and always place the blame on everyone but their ingrate child.

I agree, but the sad thing is, government has been put in a situation to where it has got to protect us from ourself. Or I should say from the idiots of society. And yes, its a slippery slop that is getting even worse with the liberal movement that is going to side with the few to punish the masses. The good old days are gone.
I tell you the answer. When parents get in trouble for not parenting, then things will change. As long as we suffer crappy parents, this crap will happen.

But
When we start to punsihed the masses for few morons, it's a slippery slope IMO. People use guns wrong, should we banned them also?

Your preaching to the choir. I agree. Im very blessed to have my kids in a small rual school. This school still prays before peprallies, games, etc.. even though "we are not suppose to". And the sup tells me, "we will keep on until they come and shut the doors.".

I break the law almost every time I shoot my bow. It is illegal to shoot a bow within the city limits here. I don't feel I should have to drive twenty minutes and pay $15 to shoot my bow. In all the time I've lived here I haven't once missed my 2'X2' target at the 20 yards my back yard allows. I've got a good backstop if for some reason I do miss, but it hasn't happened yet.
My neighbors know I shoot. Their children know I shoot. I know not to shoot if the kids are out back playing. They know not to come outside and make a bunch of noise if they see I'm out shooting. We all have an understanding.
Perhaps its because of how I was raised, but if someone is responsible about what they're doing there wouldn't be a problem IMO.

ok, now where i live its a tiny lot, i have to shoot in my pool patio into the fence yard that is like 20x5 feet big, with a deer target, and i shoot at the begginng of the patio so i have 10-15 yards max, nothing has ever happend, i think they should get the drunks and drugies and the dumb illigals of our streets before the pick on the ones who are law abiding and doing something that isnt going to kill someone.
