Snort weeze
#2
I use my wedding ring for my snort wheeze call...(THE most expensive call in the world) I've had it work VERY well at times, and watched it scare deer away too... If you have a good B to D ratio it will work better...

the snort wheeze is a very agressive call. It only works on bucks who are not afraid of a fight. Everything else will move off quickly! I reverse my grunt call and blow in the other end so the reed does not move. ffft, ffft, fffffpphh. Somtimes I just blow through my fingers in the shape of an O.
I use it SPARINGLY, and only when I see the deer I want to bring in (dominate buck). When I use it only when facing a dominant buck that is just not coming in, Iwhitnessed had an astounding success ratio. My bowkill this year would likely not have happened w/o me snort wheezing and grunting him in from 50 yards or so...he barreledwithin 12 yards of my ground blind.
If you see even a big deer, short wheeze at him, and he moves off at a trot....well that is a good sign because there is a more dominant buck around!

the snort wheeze, imo, works best when youve got a MATURE deer either responding to your calling but is hung up or passing just out of range, generally the BOSS dog will come in furious! of course it works best when the buck is in the "mood" during the early rut and peak rut periods. have had it work and have had deer ignore it, overall i will keep snort wheezing as long as i have them come stopping in likeone brute did this year!
