In additiona to all of the above....The loudest stuff I hear is Military testing...

Nothing like the silencing of all creatures in the woods as the shockwave from a High Explosive artillary 5 miles away round hits you...

Some days you'd think we were at war in Maryland!

I hunt close to a large lake. I sometimes hear people yelling when they caught a big fish. I can also hear dogs jumping into the water after someone just shot a duck.

Man I have some doozie spots!! lol

I used to hunt one spot it was shotgun and bow them after a while it was bow only. Anyway, it was bordered on one side by a capped landfill that was backed by a bunch of developments. One side had a canal that had an extremely popular walking/jogging/cycling trail. the other two sides had busineses. It was right in back of the police station and every morning at shift change they are all testing the sirens and crap. Then phone pages over the loudspeakers of other shops. The automobile traffic from the highway just the other side of the canal was insane. Then the joggers and dogs and stuff. I put my uncle in a stand over there before light one morning and he is from the Adirondacks and used to hunting the big woods. He just about had an attack figuring out how people could hunt like this!! Tons of deer in this spot though, my biggest to date came out of there.

I have other spots near a highschool so I hear games and band practice all the time.

I do hunt some real remote land also and man the quiet is nice!!

I checked all of them, and you can add my TV if the window is open and I am sitting in my food plot stand.

Last year while hunting state land in Illinois we were on an Island and was litterly hanging over the water in my stand and had a bass boat go right under me while they were fishing!! I told my hunting buddy that seeing there wasn't anything to film I was going to bring a pole!!! Walt
