Has anybody had any success with mock scrapes strictly using human urine? I don't want to spend the money on store bought stuff if I can make it myself for free.

I made a mock scrape this year and peed in it before and after i left the stand. We hung a camera on it and got a doe refreshing it and licking the branch above it. So iwould say that it does work, but have no proof of bucks using it.

I know for a fact thatanything with human order sure isn't going to make it better by no means!

I've tried it several times, never noticed any difference. Tracks and bucks sniffing it out still were common-place.


I think it has to do with the deer in your area, and how much human contact they've had in their lives. IMO, deer aren't as smart as the industry attempts to build them up to be.

It's been proven over and over again that human urine cannot be distinguished by whiteltails.

Funny you bring that up, I dipped intoan old stack of mags atthe cabin over theweekend and readabout a studythat reported deer had no preference between scrapes openedwith buck, doe or human urine. Said the human urine didn't seem to bother them a bit!I think it was from Deer and Deer Hunting back in '98. I know, i've read that too. I'm not disagreeing or argueing with no one but there won't be anyone pissing in my scrapes but the deer themselves in my woods. To many times when i first started bow hunting 21 years ago when i was a kid did i see bucks, doe's, fawns running from where i pissed in the woods before i got in my stand. I learnedshortly after thatto go before i go in the woods. To each there own right!

You're exactly right! Every hunter has their own way of doing things and I am by no means telling you to do something you dont want to do. I am just sharing what i have seen over the years. The spot i hunt the deer might have more interaction with humans that the place you hunt. The only harm i can see is your scent you spread while making the scrape rather than the pee itself.
