Just use an old rag and tie a string to it and drag it behind you, and you can spray the soles of your boots while walking. Thensprayand leave your drag rag hanging from a near by bush or tree within shooting range so if they come and smell it you have a shot. Good luck

Curth,
Here are a coup;e oflinks that will touch on the basics. You must also control your scent as well. In addition to the usual steps make sure that when you handle the scent wick or bomb that you are going to hang in the tree you do not handle it with bare hands.

You can use a scent drag (a clean scent free peice of rag) or you can put it on the bottom of your boots. You'll want to tie a small rope through the rag and attatch it to your boot as you walk to your stand. I would saturate the rag fairly well. Also, don't put the scent on the rag or your boots until your away from the truck. You don't wanta deer to follow it to your truck, so wait until your to a point where a deer might cross your scent trail and follow it to your stand. Take the rag and hang it on a branch where you want the buck to stop once your to your stand. It's not that complex. Just try to think like a buck that is looking for a hot doe.

I think you are supposed to mix it in with your coffee.
I've only done the drag rag thing once. I didn't have any success with it that day. I found an old stretched sock of mine and pulled it up over my boot. Pull it up as far as you can so it won't come off. Now, just pour some pee pee on there and start walking. Don't be afraid to really soak it in the sock. I would take the sock off about 15 yards or so from the base of your stand so that potential buck doesn't follow it all the way to your tree. He may stop and scratch his head for a moment allowing you to get a shot. Remember, try not to get any of your scent on the ground when putting on or taking off the sock. I guess you could also hang the sock up near your tree somewhere to get more scent blowing around.
Good luck! You make it sound as if you're desperate.

That's how I do it also. I don't soak it till it drips, but put a good amount on it.I leave my rag in a bush well within range and ina well placed window. . .think about the deers body position in realation to your stand. My last twobucks were sniffing the rag when the arrow hit them!
