Does ANYONE bother to read the tracking thread?
I've noticed the majority of the people seeking advice, seem fairly new to the forums. Maybe they don't realize it's there, or they just thought they didn't need to know any of it.

Thats a dead deer. Bring some help with you tomorrow and hopefully you will find him. Any creeks or water by there? A gut shot deer will head towards water. Good luck!

Dude, I think you need help with your writing and spelling skills. I had trouble reading through that post. Sounds like you opened that buck up pretty well, and he should die. They don't recover from that type of wound.

There is no doubt that this deer will die (judging from what you wrote...as best I could understand). The problem is though, he may end up dying in the next county!

You must understand just how tough Whitetails are, I think (by some folks posts) some of you think that once hit the deer just fall over dead or run a littlethen fall over dead........not so!!

Just thefact that you spooked (bumped) him tells me you set out after him WAY too soon. If you are not 100% sure your shot was a double lung or center heart, you should have markedthe spot where you hit him with an arrow and backed out quietly.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure that deer is dead, but I'm not so sure you're going to find him. It's possible he ran another few hundred yards or less and laid down again, but it's also just as possible he took off with all of his remaining strength and ran far far away from the "predator" chasing him.

I hope he didn't run far and I hope you find him. I also hope that you learn from this experience.

Just read this...

Well, you got yourself into a predicament now didn't you?

If it's going to rain, I suggest you set out after him giving yourself at least a couple of hours before it's supposed to rain. Once the rain falls and washes away your blood trail, your odds drop drastically of finding him, as you are left with only grid style searching. So now you don't have a choice but to set out after your deer.

Now I really hope he only ran a short distance before lying down again.

What time today did you shoot him??
