Where are you located in SE PA? I will come help you if your close. I will bring my dog, rain or no rain thats a dead deer and its just a matter of finding it. Have you jumped him up after the first time? How long has it been since you actually shot him? Are there any watering holes near where you shot him? Check them. How big is the area your hunting? Howmany other hunters are hunting this property? If you are still looking and need some help let me know I will bring my dog and we will try and find him.

Lets hope. Nothing I hate more next to poaching, then when someone who looks for about ten minutes after they shoot one....and then give up and go on to the next one.

i shot a deer a few weeks ago...i knew it was dead, i hit him perfect...it started to rain really hard before i started to track it and the rain just kept coming. i tracked it for like 200 yards, then backed out. i found it the next moring like 15 yards past where i stopped. but there was still blood on the ground trailing up to him even after the rain. do u think the blood just dried before the rain? i wasjust suprised that the blood trail was still there.

Dont push him. He will lay down soon. Let him stay there, go back much later and start looking. With that kind of blood trail, you should be able to pick him up. Good luck
