hey guys


Shooting my bow the other night i realized that there is still some vibration. I put some limb savers and string silencers on and it helped a little. Is there something else i could do or try. i shoot a PSE nova.thanks

Sorry, just kidding but couldn't resist. Do you have a stabilizer & if so what kind? I had a stabilizer enhancer on PSE Stingray and it helped in my opinion. Make sure that everything is good and tight...sight, rest, etc. You might want to try some mini limb savers for your accessories. Are you getting hand shock or string noise?

I wish i did have a mathews, but this bow is new so i will use it awhile. the stablizer is the one that came with it, i dont remeber what it is called but it is the standard pse stablizer. I getting a little hand shock and quite a bit of string noise

I assume you have some kind of string silencer on.. if not you should. Things that cause noise to be louder than it has to be. out of tune, sights and rest. Quickee quiver brackets are notorious noise makers. Two piece quivers are noisier than one piece. Hearvier arrows will help quiet a bow. Setting your poundage at the upper end of the range helps. A different stabilizer would probably help ..... some, and I mean possibly &quot;some&quot;. PSEs NV system would help. OPS.... that should have read one piece quivers are noisier than 2 piece. Fingers going faster than brain or the other way around.

is awesomely quiet now with the heavyer arrows!

The stabilizer configuration I had on my Stingray was a Sims Enhancer 2000 with a vibracheck isolator and a screw on enhancer to boot. I don't feel like I was getting much hand shock at all with this setup. Ditto what davidmil said about PSE's NV system. I considered adding it several times but just never did.

I used cat whiskers on the string & they worked OK. You may want to try string leaches. Lots of folks swear by them.

Eliminate the source of the noise, don't just put a band-aid on it.

Remove quiver brackets, check cam timing, have a pro shop go over it. It might mean getting a different bow. Beware of quiet bows that require super light arrows (&lt;350gr) to generate any speed (&gt;270fps). Lower efficiency bows are tend to be quieter than energy efficient bows. JMHO

I agree that string leeches would help. One thing that worked for me was the Sims limbsavers. My bow is not a split limb, but I got the limbsavers for split limbs anyway. I put them on the short split part and tightened them so that they barely touch my cables. My bow didn't have much noise to start with, but with this configuration my bow is unbelieveably quiet! I checked my arrow speed with a chronograph after this setup and didn't lose any arrow speed. The only noticeable noise left on my bow after this was a little slap of the tubing on my peep sight. I got rid of the peep and tubing and now shoot a homemade back sight similar to the HINDSIGHT. Without the tubing slap, my bow is more quiet than I ever imagined a bow could be. I don't know if this setup is feasible for your Nova, but it might be worth a try. Let me know if you try it!

The standard PSE stabilizer is probably just a solid metal one. Get an active stabilizer like the GKF tranquilizer, Stealth stabilizer, or the like. Put moleskin under the sight and rest to eleminate vibration there. String leeches on the cables will help some too. Depending on what rest you have you can put a little bit of rubber where the launcher arm bracket contacts the rest to eleminate noise there.
