Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 with a 12x Optical zoom and 5 mp and love this camera! I bought it to take on my African Hunt 2 years ago and now really never leave the house with out it! This camera takes AMAZING pictures! Its pretty much loaded and cost a bit more but in my eyes well worth it and then some, I'm glad I didn't skimp on this purchase! I have taken so many cool pictures with this camera, its kinda of a new hobby! I did my research and finally settled on the Panasonic. If I were you save a little extra money and get something nice, you won't regret it!
A few photos

Took this while scouting, he never knew I was in his world! Zoomed in from about 100 yards!

Female kudu, this pic is the camera is zoomed all the way in

Found this critter washed up on the beach while surf fishing in Australia!

Another bush critter

Look at the detail!

Rob all the cybershots I have looked at only have a 3-5 optical zoom? The bigger ones I did find have a 15 and a 10 zoom, im guessing this is what you have? They are a little more bulky then the slim cybershots, is this what you have?

Sony Cybershot 7.2 megapixel, 12X optical zoom. I love the large screen on the backside for viewing and taking pics. Added this year will be my newly aquired Canon GL2.

If your looking for a camera with a high power Optical zoom make sure you get a camera with an image stabilizer, otherwise I have found when you zoom in any little movement will blur your picture and the zoom is kinda useless at that point! The image stabilizer is what sold me on the camera I decided on!

LG EnV with the 2.0 MP camera and a Kodak LS420 2.1 MP. The Kodak is the most durable camera ive ever seen, and the pictures arent bad, no zoom or anything though, just for trophy pics

I have about a dozen Homebrew trail cams, most made with Sony 4.1's and a couple with Sony 3.2's. The camera I carry is a Sony 7.2 MP, it's better than I am

Im a Fly Fishing Guide, so I needed something that would fit in my vest pocket to keep my website up to date, durable, and hold up to getting caught in the rain, falling in the river chasing a big Brown (been known to do this a time or 2), or even just droping it in the river taking a picture, yet still take a good quality picture.
After some looking around I ended up with the Pentax Optio W20. It's a 7.0 MP, 3X optical zoom and water proof to 1.5 meters for 30 min. An Awesome little camera that can be found on the Internet for around 200.00.
I also have a Kodak Easy Share ZD710, 7.1 MP, 10X Zoom, I keep under the rowers seat in the drift boat. Very user frindly and sells for around 180.00.
