Tomorrow we have a 30% chance of rain, same as today was and today was more or less a heavy drizzle all day with a few sperts of rain off and on. I have rifle hunted in this weather a few times in the past but can't really remember the outcome and deer movement. What would you all do? I have about a 45 minute drive to my hunting spot and don't want to make the trip if there is no way they will be moving. So, do you all think the deer will be moving much in this weather? Heres a link to the weather channel in my area. http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USMO0852_f.html Any thoughts are appreciated. This is a friends land (his parents) so I like to call ahead if I am going to be heading out, don't really have to as I told them I may be there but would like to be courtious and let them know this evening for sure. Thank you!

Personally, I like hunting in those conditions. I don't think rain bothers them at all unless it's a hard, driving down pour with wind, thunder and/or lighting mixed in with it. I've killed plenty of deer in the rain.
Hunt.

With the prerut starting to heat up a little and those kind of conditions, by all means I would be on stand. Do a little calling, maybe some rattling and you will see deer. Let us know what you get. Good luck.

Sounds good, I actually planned on heading out if I didn't get any responces on this. I'll try and upload a pic from google earth if I can. Never had any luck in the past putting pics on here. If it shows up, the piont on the thumbnail is where I spotted about 6-7 deer last tuesday, just outside the woods. There is a fence running that tree line and just over the fence on the edge of the trees is where I believe they are bedding (all the grass is laying down in a 15' radius. We spotted them from about 50 -60 yards in the trees but it is a decent hill down to them and a small creek to cross so it was impossible to sneak up on them (we were stalk hunting). We have most of the area around the thumbnail to hunt on except across the road to the north and west. The fields are mainly grass and what not, no real food crops and acorn trees through out the woods. What do you guys think about the area and where would you sit? I'll probably be ground hunting on this property. Thanks again.
