When is it time to stop?

Well I havent started to rattle yet. But when the time comes I was wondering what everyone else thinks. When do you guys start to rattle in the the mornings? I usually wait alittle while after it gets light and then start. Also when is it to late to rattle in the evenings? I was curious if anyone rattles right before it gets dark. Thanks!!

I was out last Saturday fopr an evening hunt and I rattled just around 4:45 pm , by 6:00 pm I had the first come within ten yards of my blind.
I wouldn't really think about rattling during the evening hours but it worked last Saturday , I had always thought rattling in the early morning hours worked alot better.

I've heard deer sparring in the morning and evening both. Personally, the only part of the day I haven't heard sparring is in mid day. I heard sparring yesterday morning about 6:00 AM. Good luck.

I don't rattle in Pa because there is no real competiton for doe's, the buck to doe ratio is so out of wack. I've had results rattling inCanada, where the ratio is much more even and there iscompetition for the doe's. I start after first light, and continue everyhour or so, throught the day. I don't rattle too close to dark because it often takes time fora buck to work his way to your spot. Theyusually come in carefully, but sometimes it's an all out run! I rattled my first bucks last year, it was awesome!!
It's real important to remember that once they respond and don't see anything going on, they break camp with a quickness! I learned this first hand last year.
I can't wait for Nov!
