well this is private land that i lease and pay dearly for. i am not for shooting dogs or anyones pet but who lets there pet loose for 3 weeks and doent claim them. this is a lease in a well known county for big bucks and deer sighting used to be tons now down to nearly nothing. we have seen these dogs for the past 3 weeks chasing deer. yes they have collars but arent the getting close type, i was actually kinda scared to get out of my tree but was packing heat.

im not really enjoying the idea of watching alot of work and alot of money not to mention a 2 hour drive go for nothing.

Im not going to shoot anyones dog, especially if it has a collar. Its not the dogs fault, its the owners fault. Its too bad people cant keep thier pets on a chain or penned up during deer or turkey season.

it is true dogs will ruin a good deer farm,you put alot of time in scouting ,hangin stands,and getting ready for deer season,then when a nice buck is coming down the field then here comes a dog or a pack of them to run him slap out of the country ...that just aint cool.,i have a yard full of dogs and love them dearly ,,crazy bout my dogs,,and ill be the first to tell ya ,,i have smoked a bunch of them ,,on the deer farm,,its the only thing to do if your gona hunt and enjoy your time huntin.just allways put them down and make sure they do not make it home wounded ,cause thats when the owners start saying ,,a deer hunter did it,,by them not coming home they just think there out chaseing a mama dog or just run away ,and nobodys feelings get hurt that way,,,everyone remains friends.and you get to deer hunt in peace..at least thats how its done here.

Ok I sued a Guy for damage his Dog did on my property.I also sued two Guys for shooting my Dogs.

I had two Dogs running Deer on my place.Went to the people that owned them.They told me to shoot them.Well I told them I really felt it was their problem.But they insisted if I had a problem with them shoot them.Well I shot one.Then later on someone shot the other,but it made it back to their house,they took it to the Vet and everything.Well I found out they was mad because they thought I shot this Dog.I told them I didn't.They said they kind of figured it wasn't me because it made it back there.

Truth around here they have a write up in the Paper that you can't just be shooting Dogs running your property.

hellooooooo.thats why its so important they can not make it home,,,if you cant clip em clean then wait for a better chance,,they will be back.,,remember you got to hide them also,,usually our coyotes will take care of them that same night,,i mean it want even be a hair left,,amazine just amazine..

Just happened to get the November issue of the Missouri Conservationist the other day and it had a little article about dogs that are on others property.

"Dogs on private property are not considered to be trespassing. However, state statutes prohibit any person, including hunters, from entering private property without permission, even if they are just trying to retrieve their dogs.

Chapter 273 of the Missouri Revised Statutes allows landowners to pursue and kill dogs that are chasing or injuring livestock. Landowners, however, cannot shoot dogs simply for being on their property. Doing so can result in criminal charges."

Although in some cases it may be hard to prove who or what killed the dog, personally, I wouldn't risk it.In my opinion, a little inconvenience doesn't justifyshooting someone else's pet. Nor does it justify the possibilityof getting hit with criminal charges. Just not worth it.

Some people seem so heartless and over a damn deer.[&:] Heres a perfect example of why my dog is kept under close supervision during hunting season. I actually believe some people like to kill dogs and use the "they were chasing deer" excuse to justify their actions.
