Did the fence actually cut all the way up? How long do you think she has been there? Hate to see things like that. Sorry man, that's too bad...[&o]

It's been well-documented that I've wounded two deer, this year. Upon further examination of the doe in the fence.....I realized she was one of them. At least I know I didn't kill her......but I wish she'd gone via my arrow. Here's the wound.....

Where was the hit...Perhaps the reason she couldn't leap as normal? Ultimately you may have killed her after all.

Looks like she simply misjudged her jump and her back legs went in between the 2nd and 3rd wires. Too bad for sure.

I found a 13 point buck once with electric fence wire wrapped around his antlers and under his throat, the wire under his throat had tightened so much that it appears he suffocated. He had the wire on sometime too as one side was free of velvet and the otherside was dried crusty velvet that he couldnt rub.

Your case is different but in that case it could have been prevented had someone just taken the time to big up their garbage.

Well thanks, GR8. She either lived for several days (after she was hit)....or she lived for a few weeks. There were no other wounds on her. I hunted this stand both Saturday morning and Saturday evening. So.....it's been since then that this occurred.

By the shape she was in....and the fact that she wasn't extremely stiff (entirely)....I'd say she died yesterday, there. The small doe fawn was likely killed in the last day or so, too.

Any clue what or why this happened? Was she shot before hand? Ive seen deer easily go over barbwire. Just Curious
