I hunt in OK as well and I'm planning on trying some very light rattling this weekend and some light grunting. I'm going to do this to probe and see if I can get any response. I woudn't rattle hard or loud for another week or 2. Pre-rut is just starting, however I have noticed that one county is not the same as another so may just want to test and see for your area. I did shoot a buck 2 years ago this weekend (Oct 22nd, 2005) after using a doe in estrus call. He was looking for the first doe that was ready so that may work on an eager young buck.

I have called in several bucksthis week around here incentral Oklahoma with a bleat call. They say there might be a mini rut going on here. Any of you Oklahoma hunters heard of this?
