Finally doe down

Well its been a tough year for em so far, have seen a decent amount of deer, but for whatever reason it never seemed to work out till last night. I was in stand by 4:30, and at 5:15 i had 2 button bucks directly under my stand for 5 minutes. They eventually crossed the creek behind me. At around 5:40, i saw a lone doe walking through the woods, but on a different trail that wouldnt lead her to me. She more or less made a big circle and ended up about 50 yards wide of me about to cross the stream at a different crossing. I said to myself, what do i have to lost and mouth bleated at her. Like i thought, she immediately looked in my direction. After a couple seconds though she continued on her way again so i bleated again. This time she looked my way and walked directly to my set up. She stopped at 10 yards quartering hard to me. She had no clue i was in no rush. She slowly turned to walk away and i nailed her. She went on a death run about 70 yards and piled up. Its amazing what NAP spitfires can do. Hopefully the first one of the year will be the hardest. Unfortunately i was alone and didnt have my camera on me, so no pics to show off, i will post a nice pic of the backstraps on the grill though.

nice job, my first doe, i missed her trying to shoot through a spot in the leaves. she turns away and starts walking. i'm trying to e.s.p. her in to turning around and she does just that. she ends up walking right in front of me at 10 yds and ran about 60 before piling up. my point, it's amazing what happens sometimes to put a deer in front of us that otherwise might have gone on without us having a chance.
