Default first deer this season

I got my first deer this season in an unusual way . i went camping with my son at a state area with the boy scouts . i got there late friday afternoon just before dark . when i was there i asked where i could go hunting seeing as i had never been there before so they told me to go down this trail away from the camping area. the next mornig i got up early before any one else so i decided to check out the area to possibly hunt for a couple hours in the after noon. i took my truck over to the trail down a dirt road . as i was near the end ther was three deer feeding on the acorns in this area . they scampered off about 70 yards but but i could still see them at the woods line because it was very open. I quick put the truck in park turned it off and grabbed the bow out of the back. islowly stalked toward them keeping a tree between me and there sight. I got to about 35 yards and i stepped to the side to see. two where off to the side behind brush . the bigest one was in plan sight then she took a couple steps forward and turned broadside. i decided to draw back put the pin on her ,focus and tell the arrow go . i hit her great right in the chest but it wasn't a pass thru . i could see the arrow as she took off and i could see it was good. i went bak to camp and the others were up so i told them i had one down and had breakfast just to be sure. i went back with another guy later to track.at first i had trouble finding the blood trail but as we searched we found it we slowly kept following it at about 100 yards out we found the arrow . then about another 30 yards there she was . as i examined the shot it was exactly where i was aiming about 2 inches above the elbow and an inch back . it stuck in the back shoulder blade she must of had her far leg back when i shot. I couldn't believe how far she went. the slick tirckput a great hole in her but the arrow must have plugged the hole as the trail wasn't super strong and the distance she went. it was the shortest hunt i had and was thrilling to do it on the ground . i'm excited to have meat in the freezer
