Been seeing scrapes for almost a week. Mostly from dinkers who don't really know what's going on, but encouraging nonetheless. Saw a hellacious rub yesterday though. Made me thinkI might need some firepower when I go in before daylight..har har.

Starting to see them around here too. About two weeks ago I found the first rub on my land.

Scrapes can happen anytime. Remember it's not the bucks that control the rut, it's the doe. Some scrapes can be territorial not breeding and some, just because. When I was in KS hunting turkeys on at the begining of April there was an active scrape near one of our setups. Active because it was freshly pawed with a print in it. Not breeding at all.

And I agree, some are anxious youngsters.

I've yet to see any scrapes round here yet. I can't wait though. I've been out a few times since I shot my doe, but I'm mainly waiting for things to heat up to get out there for my buck.
