scrapes
I would love to know if more than one buck will tend to the same scrape. I have been observing the same 2 scrapes for about 3 weeks now & they constantly have new tracks .Since we are 5 days into rifle season, the buck I have been watching could already be hanging in someone else's barn. If he is, is it possible that another buck has taken over?? Curiosity is getting the better of me. None of my guy hunting buddies can answer me. Thanks a bunch!!

RE: scrapes
bucks will revisit their scrapes, but almost any buck walking through will freshen that scrape and leave their scent there.
the best advice i have ever received about hunting over scrapes is to hunt them in the rain and be there the moment the weather lets up. best chance of a buck stopping by to "rescent" his scrapes, since the rain will wipe away the scent.
good luck.

RE: scrapes
this year was my first time making a mock scrape. I found a smaller 2-3" dia treenear my standand raked the bark off w/ a hoethen i made about a 3-4' scrape next to its base. then i put a scent dripper above the scrape on a branch as high as i could reach. i made the scrape last tuesday and i hunted this past sat. and sun. sunday it drew in a 2.5 year old basket 8pt. 1hr. after sunrise.he started smelling around, licking the tree and rubbing it. then left his scent. perfect heart shot. i wish i had a camera. it wasreallyenjoyableto watch that.
