Default Help with areas in Southwest Missouri to takemy Daughter Hunting

I have only been out here for a few years and my daughter is getting into bowhunting. I need to know where ther are some good areas to hunt I have been scouting the conservation areas and not seeing anythig. Except down here in springfield where you can not hunt. I am starting to think that her i southwest Missouri you have to find Private land to hunt. Can any fellow hunters that live down here in this area help start me in the right direction. so my daughter can at least have a chance to try and get her first Deer. Thanks in advance

I'm really sorry to hear your having so much trouble finding a good spot to take your Daughter Bow Hunting on...!

Have you tried looking on the Missouri Department of Conservation Site...?
www.mdc.org (I believe this is the link)?

They list all the Sites where you can go hunting on...be sure to check any laws about tree stands and what deer your allowed to hunt on each Conservation Area. Most only allow walking in on their property and don't allow vehicles or 4-wheelers.

Hint:
SomeParks and Camp Groundsallow hunting near or so many feet off their grounds for Hunting so you could camp there and go hunting outside the perimiter of their Camp Ground.

Mo, I have been going to Mo State in Springfield since 2004, so I know a few places you can try. You may know some of the areas. Pm me if you want to know some spots in the springfield area. All of them are conservation land, but I can tell you which ones i have seen sign at.

Check out www.missouriconservation.org and click on atlas, left column of the home page. From there, you can find any public land in whatever county you want to hunt.

Yeah, conservation ground can be tough. Tell ya what else you might try......See about getting hold of the Corps of Engineers. They sometimes own ground that won't be publicized, and not many people know about it, or hunt on it. I don't live in that part of the state, so I'm sorry I can't be more definitive help.
