I have a couple of questions - If atlasman was the one posting the "every shot" threads and he posted the identical posts that GMMAT posted would everyone have treated him kindness and understanding that was afforded to GMMAT? What if it were mr. longbeard making those posts? Would they still be "learning threads"?

Or what if it was someone who bought a bow one week before the opener and was experiencing the same things. I think there would be a lot of bashing going on there as well.

Jeff,
I support you like I told you in your other post about the deer you couldn't find. If you're going to go out and fling spears at animals some of them are going to get away. That's just the way it is. As a friend of the family once said "It won't go to waste. Just help the food chain" as cruel as that sounds it is so true.

I'll answer that, Bruce (for me...and me, only).

I wouldn't wish the season I've had on anyone. To ME.....I'll criticize a poor decision MUCH faster than I'll criticize a poor result. I took my lumps on attempting to take the second doe, Tuesday....which is something I'll never do again....without the first one down in sight. Criticism accepted. Lesson learned.

But.....if "others" (those two you cite, included) make a good decision BEFORE they loose their arrow.....what can I say about their result? What is there to critique, then? Ifsomeone here has never missed or wounded an animal.....then I can see THAT person not fully understanding when someone else does so. I'mONLY....ONLY citing Rick James as an example....becauseI think it's pretty well documented and accepted that he's a great archer......yet he hasadmitted to two complete misses, this season, alone. Through PM's.....I know ofhunters among us who've lost multiple deer over multipleSEASONS. Another lost three in a row in ONE season.

Let's just say that "I" am more tolerant than I would have been a year ago.....when I admittedly thought this bowhunting thing was "easy".

Internet personas come into play, too, I fear. No one really knows for sure what someone's hunting past holds. I'm guessing it's a lot like online dating. Maybe the person you're seeing in the photo isn't giving a true representation of themselves. I put my ugly mug up there from the start, this year. It was "real".

How can you not love them!!! It's win, win!!

If one person learns from these it's worth it!! I'm sure Jeff has learned a lot, not that he wouldn't have learned anyway, but I'd be willing to bet he learned something from the posts that he would not have learned without them!! Just the fact thathe can accept corrective criticism says a lot!

It's obvious he feels terrible about the outcome!!!

Everybody has gone through the learning process!! NOBODY started out perfect!!

I've read every one, and I also stated that I too would post every shot, and I will!

I hope Jeff does too!!

Respect
Vikes

Neither atlasman nor Mr Longbeard would accept the criticism as Jeff does. Jeff is in his 3rd year bowhunting and welcomes criticism, we've all learned that atlasman and Mr. Longbeard are NEVER wrong.

I have seen atlasman take 10 times the criticism GMMAT has ever received and thought he handled it well.atlasman has had many, many more personal shots taken at him (see above) than I have seen anywhere (except maybe the politics forum LMAO) on this site and he was not as wrong as often as many on here wished he was.
