Theoretically if you are shooting the same distances to target and you use the same pin, say a 30 yd pin, you will hit high while shooting from a elevated position because you are "helping" gravity by shooting at a downward angle. Make sense?

I really need to call Perry at Archers Advantage and get my program back up and running,if it were,I could tell you exactly what I would have to shoot it for.

Then why does an uphill shot have the same effect on the arrow, untill you get to REALLY LONG shots?

I agree with loogout.

Look at it this way, TFOX.....

When you range from an elevated perch.....do you range from the actual distance from your perch to the target.....OR...do you range the horizontal distance?

My opinion......60' up (and the hypthetical is absurd, I know.....but, to me, it proves a point)....and 30yds out....if you use your 30yd pin...you'll hit high. Gravity is helping you.

The entire point of that was.....you don't get the advantage of the "arch" to help in visualizing your arrow impact your quarry.....when you're in an elevated perch and shooting short distances.

That was all.....

Good discussion......thanks.

Gravity IS NOT speeding the arrow up enough to affect arch on a downhill shot.

You would shoot that shot exactly the same if you were shooting it uphill.

NOW,when you get out around the 70 YARD mark on uphill and downhill shots, then it does.
