Default creek walking

I wear my fishing waders just incase i get bored. I just creep upwind in a knee deep stream and look on the banks for deer. My buddy got a deer this way. How many people have tried this? I heard it was quite effective.

I don't use the hip boots to hunt from the streams but I have a couple of great spots that you just can't get to without boots. Can get a little hairy in December but just don't slip..At least not on the way in.

I have a spot on my land where I wear my chest waders to get to by stream. Then I actually sit in the stream on a big rock behind a perfect blowdown 22 yards from a torn up creek crossing heading from a swail field to an apple orchard. I've taken several deer from that spot. The only problem is it gets a little hairy to hunt if its a rainy fall and the creeks areflowing fast[:-]

I have always wanted to dothis toothe area i hunt is all creeks and small drainages, i want to just sneakinto thewindona stream, do a little calling as i go, see what happens. I think of it this way, stillhunting works, if you move slow enough...well, imagine stillhunting in spots where you can move very quietly & are somewhat concealed...and the deer are quite concentrated as to where they might be (crossings). Should be even better.

I have never tried it yet though.

I used to do this when I first started hunting. Seen many deer this way. Missed them [:@]. Then I started living in the trees. I'm starting to come down from the trees again and wander around. I enjoy it. Go slow. The creek will cover your noise but will cover theirs too. You also don't have any cover to hide behind but you are usually below the rest of the terrain. Look for deer bedded next to the creek, especially in tall weeds.
