I have no idea why anyone would want to shoot an elephant.

A lot of people say that about whitetails[&:], but I have to agree about shooting one.

You don't get to bring any meat home Germ. It all goes to the tribes etc...the only thing that comes to the states is the hide.

I bet that Elephant "rug" sure is cozy.

Just seems like a waste to me, it might be different if you could take the meat (if you have a craving for that) or tusk.

Slippery slope guys. The more people who say why would anyone want to shoot animal "X" the more chance that those who do want to shoot animal "X" may never get that chance. Then it's on down the line to animals "Y" & "Z" etc.

From whatI understand, hunting some of those critters over there is the best way to protect them from being wiped out, because of the money they bring in.

Congrats on your accomplishsment.

While it's quite a feat with a bow, I don't think that's something I personally would want to do. I just think the odds of killing an elephant quickly and humanely with one shot from an arrow are too low for my comfort level. But that's a personal choice that should be up to the individual hunter, not others. Congrats again!
