Default How old is this buck?

Looking at the headgearhe doesn't look that old, but then looking at the depth of his chest slightly bigger belly, etc......and then body size compared to the mature doe he is next to he may be older than I think.

I suspect this picture is of an old friend that many of you may recognize from 2x years ago. If you look at the closeup of him, you can see he is a halfrack........[8D]. Antler wise he isn't big however he may be 3.5 or better this year and just never grew impressive headgear because of previous injuries.

How old you you think this guy is? Do you think the bottom two pictures are of the same deer?

This year:

I'm guessing 2.5 on the top photo. Look at his neck. I KNOW they fill out a lot after their summer coats go.....and I can appreciate where you're hunting. This is just my guess (and reasoning).

If that's a doe, beside him.....and not a BB....he COULD be 1.5 based on his body size. If he is....he's an EXCEPTIONAL 1.5 yr old.

This from a field judging newbie.....lol.

My take is it's a very developed 1.5 year old. I realize he's standing behind the other deer but to be honest, I have to agree with GMMAT and say that other deer is this years deer, either button or doe yearling. He's not that much different than it. Very solid but a 1.5 year old.

I have reservations calling him 2.5 years old. I wouldlean to 1.5.

I want to say 2.5, I just can't see him being 1.5 because of body size. His neck is thin but is is also early in the season. But then again I am use to seeing smaller body sized deer so I very well could be way off.

I don't see the tumor on the top two pics, which on the bottom ones it hang well below his chin line. I agree, I do not think it is the same buck. I think they are of different age. I think the top one may be closer to 2.5. The bottom one may be closer to 1.5. As everyone else, I'm not his daddy so I dont know for sure, just my two cents.

On dif subject, is it my eyes or does the top one have an arrow just barely hanging from his rib cage. If he does, someone needs a better bow, should wait till it gets in range next time, or needs to cut down that brush he shot through.
