IMO laws of that nature are meant to be broken. Sure, if you got caught you would face some penalties, but I would rather have to deal with that than knowing the deer is out there suffering

If you owe anything to the deer it making a good shot in the first place. If you deer hunt then you must be willing to face the fact that a bad shot will be made from time to time. If you cant face that fact then don't hunt. We all want a clean kill and should work hard to get it but it doesnt make it right to go out with a spot light and shoot it after dark. If it makes you feel bad that the deer didnt die quickly then find another sport or take only shots that will do the job cleanly......
