Truthfully, if it was eaten and unfit for consumption, leave it be. What is the sense? Nature has claimed this one for her own. I would tear up a tag and report the kill, but leave the spoils to the creatures of the night. It wasn't anything you could prevent in this instance. We can't control nature. Go hunt some yotes when you run out of tags. What comes around goes around, they say.

That kind of thing sucks when it happens. I havent had it happen to myself yet and hope it doesnt but I know it happens. I would count it as a kill as well.

I let mine go over night once, and the next day I found its gutpile, and the persons hat who took it. Just shows maybe you shouldn't let them go over night, they might get eaten or stolen
