The guys that dog Mathews are just real small in that special place. Kind of makes them feel big there for a second when they write the slam. That Switchback is a hunters bow. Super smooth draw and quiet. When your at the top of the food chain everyone wants to bring you down.
LMAO....you kill me.

I think the main reason Mathews is hated so much is because they have done well enough that they can market as much as they want, and they also have the funds to have so much sponsorships that it's rediculous. They dont really give a chance for the other bow companies to get their name out there. If you notice on the outdoor channel a lot of the big show names shoot mathews. I shoot a bowtech and I can only name a handful of shows that shoot bowtech in their show. They just dont have the sponsorship that Mathews has. Maybe it's because a lot of the other bow companies are still growing.

The bottom line is that it's the skill of the hunter/shooter that makes the biggest difference-not the brand of product. Any skilled hunter can kill game with anything. said that,I switched to mathews several years ago and have no intention of ever buying another bow of other brand UNLESS somebody comes out with a bow that is clearly superior to mathews. There's not as much difference as manufacturers would have us think. When I switched to mathews,I started shooting better than I ever did previously and sold my first 3 mathews bows used and after taking several head of game with each, for more than I paid for them new. I now own a switchback XT and do not see trading up again for quite a while. People bash other brands because of ad hype and believe it to the word or perhaps they are trying to convince themselves they didn't make a mistake-I'm saying this of all brands.

You could have just reached over the counter and popped his head like a pimple

I'm curious BigJ, a dude your size, that kind of draw length and poundage, what kind of speed do you get out of your bows? Ever checked? 1 pin out to 50 yards?

I don't know...the last time I checked, theactual selling prices (notMSRP's)for all of the "top three" bow companies is pretty comparable, I don't think that's it. If I had to guess I think Motown and Rick James nailed it.

By me
Drenalin $819
Vetrix $680

Sick.

Drenalin's are selling for $649.00 at my proshop. Would you like me to order you one?

Maybe the guy was just being a hinny hole cause his wife wouldn't let him go hunting that day. Maybe? We could second guess ourselves to death. Buy what you can afford, make sure it fits and have fun using it! Pretty simple.

enough for the owner to know me, not my name so much but he remembers my face.
Now BigJ, how can anyone NOT remember YOU when you walk through a door. [8D] I assume he just calls you SIR?

Unfortunately Like I said before, the only problem with Mathews is some of their owners. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Mathews bow, unfortunately many of their owners are just so damn "I shoot a Mathews so my **** doesn't stink" mentality. Turns people off the product.

I'm not bashing any of you, nor the product but that's just the way it's looked upon that I've seen. It's jammed down our throats from Ads to buying up all the Staff. Again, great marketing, kudos to an incredible marketing department etc...

Kinda like over using the term harvest....or Scent Lok. [8D]

Again, no offense to any of our members, I'm not talking about any of you, Kurt sitting here beside me shot a Mathews, great bow, alot of my friends do. I just feel sorry for them. [8D] Almost owned one myself until the Allegiance went off.

I don't know, maybe people are different around here. I have noticed people that shoot Mathews in this area are a bit stuck up or something. They treat other bow brands like their inferior and the same with the guys shooting them. I have even heard all sorts of nicknames they have for different brands. PSE= Pieces Scattred Everywhere.. Bowtech= No Tech ect. I just notice a different breed of peole in the other pro shops as compared to the guys hanging out at the Mathews shop. You just can't seem to have a friendly conversation with the Mathews guys. The other shops people are way more relaxed and down to earth. Maybe its just the shop owners and it carries over to their customers. Don't really know how else to explain it.

Does Mathews make great bows? Absolutely. Are they the best? Not in my opinion.

"The best" doesn't even enter into the equation with the top line bows ..... it's all about PREFERENCE

I still like MOTOWN'S post

sounds like he was getting ready to slam the matthews, then reality struck, and he realized how big a boy you are [8D]seriously, i own a matthews, a Q2 bought new in 05, and i absoultly love it, some hate the grip on matthews but it fits me quit nicely. Did you get the arrow spine issue settled?
