on Maryland eastern shore with my unc. anyone else hunting sika deer this weekend or on marylands eastern shore? i shot a spike last year and want to try to get something again this year. im not sure how hot its going to be, but im sure glad to get in the woods down there. anyone else hunt sika?

I used to go to Chincoteague (sp?) to watch the birds when i was younger....those sikadeer (think they are from the elk side right?)were all over the place...I'd love to hunt them.

rice - yea they are much smaller, body wise and rack wise. they dont have real wide-type racks, they are more vertical than wide. mine was small, and weighed probably 100 pounds. im not really sure. i had a pic on here somewhere, ill see if i can find it. they are extremely fun tho, they make a bugling noise. and your right, they are the small cousin of the elk.
