Reflex, mission, and a bunch of others for new reasonably priced bows. Another great scource of a decent bow is go to your local pro shop, ask their advise, then check out good used bow from above advise.

Martin Cheetah or Bengal. Right in that price range.

Went thought the same thing a little over a month ago -- learned a lot in the process. Here's a thread that sums it all up: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2304751&mpage=1&key=?

Bottom line -- shoot plenty of different bows - side by side if possible, be prepared to spend more than your budget, and while everyone has a favorite bow or brand, pick the one that feels best to you. Then get plenty of practice to get confident with your shots.

If you go on ebay , checkout the pearson bows offered by a member by the name of bubbabuck , awesome deals on quality new bows at almost 1/2 the cost of some others .

Ive bought a few from him and been very pleased
