I had a deer stop 5 feet out of my shooting lane just behind a shrub this year on opening day. I couldn't make out if it was a buck or doe but it just stood there for 15 solid minutes just untill it got too dark to see. It was the worst too cause I am in an earn-a-buck county so its always best to get a doe as early as possible. I did end up getting one two days later though so I guess its ok...

2 years ago I shot a doe on the opening night. It was my first sit of the year. Her and another doe were on their way from a bedding area to a cut corn field. It worked out just as I had planned. Now if every hunt would work like that!
