    About ten years ago I shot my first buck on opening day right at sunrise. When he first came out I was worried he would move on before legal shooting time. A nice little eight pointer. But Ohio was only a one deer season that year so the rest of the season sucked!

    yes on openig day of gun season several times,last year killed one opening day of bow season for the first time

    Yeah, that would suck. I don't know if I could handle shooting one deer at the beging of the season, and not being able to hunt the rest of the year.: (

    Last year I shot an 8pt. on the first day of Pennsylvania and have twice in New York.

    Shot quite a few deer on opening day over the past 30 years. This is the best day to be prepared to sit all day. Even the big bruits haven't gotten nervous yet. Here in Louisiana we have 3 doe and 3 buck tags for the season.
