Really dumb question

As it gets colder those walnuts up higher should fall due to temp. and higher winds. The chance of a walnut hitting you on the cranium when your right next to the trunk should be pretty low. Shake the sand out and hang the stand!

Get up in there! Yea, someone might laugh if they see you in full camo and a helmet. But they will feel bad when they see the short bus come pick you up.
(it's just a joke people)

I've already decided that I'm hanging in that tree. No doubt. Stand is going up tomorrow morning.
I just know I'm setting myself up for some kind of walnut-related catastrophe. My luck, one will smash right into my bow sight and bust all my fiber optics off. Or K.O. me without warning... LOL

If I had to hunt in a hockey helmet, I would seriously feel like Special Ed from Crank Yankers.
Yayyy! I Love Hunting! Yayyyyyyy!!!

Who said it earlier, mobow I believe, " Put on your big boy pants" and hunt. Worst case, like Jeff mentioned, throw up a tree umberella rather than look like Special Ed however if you wear the helmet in the tree by all means, bring us a picture and we expect you to be wearing it in the picture with the animal you happen to take from that walnut tree.

I would be more worried about one bouncing off the stand and ringing like a bell telling all the deer within a mile radius "THERE'S A HUNTER OVER HERE!" other than that don't worry about it.

I shot my first deer with a bowout of a walnut tree. I ain't gonna lie they hurt when they hit you but they won't kill you. I was hit in the arm and leg that year espicailly when the wind was blowing. but its well worth it if that is the tree that will get you a shot.
