Well thanks to everyone that relplied. Im going to shoot some bows on Monday or so at my buddies shop. He will set me up and show me how to shoot it. Yeah Im going to be hunting this year for the adventure not the tender rewards that come along with hunting. Oh yeah and my friend said that there is this meat on a deer that taste really bad and said that I should send it to him. He said it is called theBackstraps. I was wondering how do you guys dispose of them nasty backstraps?

Yeah. They are aweful. [:'(][:'(]

Actually the tenderloin is too. If you want, I can take both off your hands. I like to feed them to my dogs.

The wild game meat is better for you, so you'll live longer and have less doctor bills, so see, in the long run you will be saving money![8D]
Venison is a damn site healthier than all the growth hormone injected beef and chicken you can buy at the grocery store. Also, if you process your own deer, you can rest assured that there's no e-coli or any other food poisoning waiting for you.

Grass & grain fed deer meat vs. growth hormone and offal fed beef

Not a difficult choice... plus, as was said above, it's a great "hobby"!!

It's kind of like the stock market. You have to be in it for the long haul. If you hunt many years it all evens out and you've eaten a whole lot healthier than you would with store bought.

Then again like the other guys have said, there's more to it than just the cost per pound. A lot of very meaningful friendships are made. Hard to put a price on that.

It's not about the cost per pound and if I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand.
