Drought and acorns??

Keep in mind the two types of oaks have different production cycles. Red oaks produce every year but white oaks every other year (obviously not every tree on the SAME year). Those of you in dry areas with lots of acorns make sure those aren't empty hulls. Frost and drought can affect production and should be taken into consideration.
I also fertilize specific trees but use broadcast lawn fertilizer, it's cheaper.

In my part of Pa (5-D), we have PLENTY of acorns. They are already dropping in some spots. I believe this is because of our drought conditions as well.A lot of the white oaks are loaded. I've seen some (mature) white oaks that drop every three years. Here's one of them.
