Your red dot is not in a good place. You are going to hit bone there.
I would pretty much aim were Tfox did.

Margain all 4 ways..

Ditto!!! In the past I have aimed farther back in fear of hitting the shoulder but not anymore.

Forget about your margin of error for a sec. Couldn't you aim straight up the leg like this? I feel more comfortable shooting back a bit though like Mathewsboy.

that is where im aiming. that is from a decintly steep treestand angle too...say 20ft high and 15-20yd shot. i rather be too low than too high.

correct me if im wrong, my ground shot should be a heart shot. my treestand should also take the heart and lungs...

my 2 lock ons i hung this year are rather low. unless they are really close im aiming just above the meeting of the body and leg...cant live with a hole through their heart and air in their chest cavity and atleast 1 collapsed lung
I think this is a bit far forward. Yes, deer legs are not huge, but about 2 inches back, and it is heart lung city. Look at all the other aim points, they are all just a bit back of yours. It might work, but you are getting close to some very heavy bone. Aim off the back of the leg, not the center, about 1/3 up=dead deer.

Just my opinion.

Greg,

Why so far forward? I would have shot about 2-3 inches to the right (still safe double lung territory),
about like Rob/PA.

I'm not saying your wrong, edumucate me as to why aiming for the shoulder is the best shot. [8D]

I've shot deer there and watched them crash in less than 40 yards. For the last couple of years I've been aiming a bit farther back and I'm getting tired of almost shooting too far back and having to track them for over 200 yards. So, maybe this will help me to aim a bit more forward of where I have been lately!
