Where do you gut your animal?
#21
i gut em where they fall.
only exception is if i cant gut in the area, or dont feel i should..IE, in the middle of an orchard that people actively work in...close to a house etc..
ive never seen it effect deer. actually killed one one day and went back the next and there was a big deer standing right by the pile. i cant remember if it was a buck or doe, just remember it was a big deer.
also, ive killed deer while they were still steamin. guess rifle hunting is a bit different...but dad and i used to fill some tags. one day we killed 3 all by 9am from the same spot. another we killed 2. i shot one while dad was gutting his.

I gut them where they drop unless its in a yard or something. Had deer come by in the afternoon after I left a gut pile in the AM. Death & guts dont phase them much unless they know its was you that did it. The buzzards usually get it before yotes but I dont care if the yotes get it. If theres yotes in the area deer are used to them. They share the woods fine I think.

I always field dress my Deer where they drop....on a few rare occasions we have hauled them to an area where we don't hunt or closer to our house to field dress them and then wash the Deer out with the out-door faucet! If someone is still hunting close the where we shoot our Deer we won't field dress by their hunting spot so the Coyote's won't scare the other deer away!

Gut mine in a patch of woods I don't hunt. I don't want to take any chances on yotes coming in to the gut pile.
I then butcher in my shed.....and take the carcass about a mile from here.

Where do you gut your prize? Does the gut pile effect other animals coming into the area?

I gut them in the first comfortable place I come to. Sometimes it has been right where they fell and others I have dragged out to the edge of woods. If it is night time I have dragged them to edge of woods so I don't forget where they are in the excitement of the moment.
